Product Description
The Sno WovelTM snow shovel is the safe alternative to shoveling. With virtually no effort, this snow shovel can throw snow without twisting or lifting. Our wheeled snow shovels (or rolling shovel line) are designed to greatly reduce the risks of back and heart injuries associated with snow shoveling, the Sno Wovel revolutionizes the mechanics of snow shoveling - outperforming many snow blowers and is 3x faster than shoveling. It is environmentally clean, quiet, and maintenance-free. The Sno Wovel wheeled snow shovel multiplies mechanical force and leverage at the axle or fulcrum point of the 35 wheel. With a seesaw action, it's possible to throw twice as much snow as a traditional snow shovel into piles over 4ft high. Great in all snow conditions, from slush to over 2ft (and especially for heavy) snow. Made of heavy gauge steel and injection-molded polypropylene, the Sno Wovel can move up to 2ft of heavy snow with their 26 extra wide blade (and even slush). The frame, wheel and tire are warranted FOR LIFE durable yet lightweight and easy to maneuver - performance tested by professionals and consumers around the world. Its simple to assemble, comes with a DVD video guide along with a Limited Lifetime Warranty. A top U.S. ergonomic research center independent study(at the Univ. of Mass) verifies using the patented wheel-based technology results in a 3-4 times reduction in lower back stress and cardio exertion vs. conventional snow shovels. Greatly reducing strain, risk of back injury ("comparable to simply walking"). Anyone can use the wheeled shovel and it is fully adjustable for body type and size. Maintenance-free, the new Sno Wovel features a unique Folding Frame for even more convenient frame adjustment, storage and portability. It stores easily and can hang flat on the wall like a shovel. Accessories; including Gravel Wheels, a Chipper Plate for ice and packed snow, and an advanced composite Snap-On Wear Strip to extend shovel life are available.

4 out of 5 stars Excellent product!   March 2, 2010
Shawn Bean (Earth)
I live in the suburbs of Philadelphia and, as you may know, this winter hasn't been kind to us. My wife and I recently moved into a new home and our driveway is about 75 feet long. The first two storms were killers for us. Shoveling 18+ inches of snow took forever. I saw this product in a very old "Popular Mechanics" magazine while in a doctors office. $100 as opposed to an $800 large snowblower? Sure...why not? I have to say, the product works very well. I was able to clear the driveway and sidewalk in about 45 mintes from the last 2 storms! (Granted the wind blew a lot away, but I was still left with 10"-12") I even started after our neighbor began plowing with his tractor and finished before him (although his driveway is a bit longer). Assembly is not that bad, just be sure you secure both ends of the tire around the frame and stretch it as you fit it over the rim. My only major complaints are that the wheel rim is plastic, but no biggie there as it is fairly compact and high strength. The Shovel is also plastic and I would have liked to have seen it be made of metal to accommadate the frame and handle. You do need a little momentum to toss the snow, but it works very well and saves your back. It has a thin profile when disassembled into it's two pieces for storage and hangs easily in the garage. I would definitely recommend this as a great alternative to an expensive, space consuming snow blower.

5 out of 5 stars Surviving this Northeast winter with my wovel!   February 27, 2010

I ordered late last spring this not knowing at all if it would work, but wanting a green alternative to the snow blower. I had no idea that I would need it this much -- the winter of 2010 has dumped more snow the Southeast New York region than usual. Nevertheless, I am able to clear out the driveway so much faster with the Wovel. The sidewalk is a breeze -- it takes minutes (and I do my neighbor's for the heck of it). I can move more snow than I thought possible. And it's a great work out! Dare I say it...I actually enjoy shoveling snow with the Wovel. Even so, I am hoping for spring. Thank you, Wovel inventors!

I haved used this for 2 snow seasons and the ease of use and the simplicity of the Wovel still amazes me.I have a large drive way and a walk way,and the amount of time it takes me to get the Wovel, out unfold it, clear the driveway and walk is about half the time it took me with a snow blower.add to the fact that it's a totally "green" piece of equipment,no exhaust or maintance required, plus the fact that you get a nice little workout, similar to Tai Chi(no,really).the only thing is that the little metal strip that goes on the bucket edge should have been included with the Wovel.even though,I've used it for two seasons with minimal wear on the edge.it doesn't take long to get used to the weird looks and funny remarks you get, because there is some satisfaction when you see someone who you've talked to about it eventually buy one.this was the invention of the year a few years ago,but it probably is the invention of the decade.

4 out of 5 stars Great invention   February 18, 2010

I got the Wovel last night and tried it in my driveway. We had two big snow storms last week, and my driveway was mostly shoveled but there were some areas with still two feet of snow. The Wovel is awesome. The biggest difference between it and a regular shovel is that the Wovel doesn't hurt your back. With a regular shovel, I have to stop every once in a while to rest my back. But with the Wovel I can keep going. It uses your legs and lats more, I felt. A few points:

1. You need to build up some speed for the throw to be effective. I have snow piled up 4-5' high and had to throw the snow over the top, and I found that if I start from a stand still, I can't get the snow over.

2. My driveway was partly shoveled, so I had room to get some momentum before I threw. I don't know how it would do if the whole thing was covered.

3. I was afraid it wouldn't be very maneuverable, but that wasn't the case. It's light and easy to control.

A little background on myself -- I have never used a snow blower and don't like motorized gear in general. I enjoy shoveling with a regular shovel. The Wovel is still hard work -- you have to physically move the same amount of snow as with a shovel. It's just easier on your back, so you don't get injured, and you can do it faster.

4 out of 5 stars Great for larger areas   February 15, 2010
JJinNM (Los Alamos, NM USA)
I've used the Sno Wovel several times now, it is great for the driveway, which is exactly why I bought it. I have an electric Toro snow blower as well as several different shovels, for most snows, this is the instrument of choice to clear the driveway. I would have given it 5 stars but it is a little long and thus tough to turn in tight space and this also impacts the ability to shovel my walkway with a short wall on one side and garage on the other. The Wovel does a better job than the Toro on the heavy, dense snow the street plows put at the end of the driveway and it does indeed seem to be easier on a bad back.
