5 out of 5 stars Thermotabs can be a life saver   August 29, 2010
M. Garland (AL, USA)
Living in the heat of the Southeast United States, Thermotabs have now become a staple of my hydration process for working outside for long periods of time. Although not every pharmacy keeps them in stock, most should be able to order them for you. But, Amazon's price can't be beat!! They're $6.99+tax at my store!!

Now that I've reached 40, the heat and humidity affect me more. To the point of getting dizzy and getting a headache very easily in high temperatures. We recently had a large outdoor cleanup project we had to tackle and it couldn't wait till cooler weather. I started getting leg cramps 6 hours into the task, so I sent my son to the store to get some of these as I'd heard they worked. And believe me, they did. Only took about an hour to stop the leg cramp I had that kept coming back over and over and stopping me from working. They also took care of that sick feeling that was coming over me, as well as the headache that had started.

I cooled off, drank some more Gatorade and water, and went back to work. Wasn't bothered by a single headache or leg cramp again for the next two days. Thermotabs work (I was skeptical, until I used them) and I won't ever tackle another outdoor project in the summertime without them. Thank you, Thermotabs!!

Appreciate the quick delivery. Good service since I couldn't find this product in our city.

5 out of 5 stars Thermotabs   August 1, 2010

Living in the sweltering San Joaquin Valley, salt tablets are a must. Yet, the geniuses managing the pharmacies and discount stores in my area do not carry them in stock. Thankfully, I was able to order through Amazon. Thermotabs are a buffered salt tablet that provides the ingredients I need to avoid cramping, fatigue, and heat prostration, yet is gentle on the stomach.

5 out of 5 stars Hydration answer   June 13, 2010

I have a neurological problem that leads to syncopy (fainting) if I become dehydrated. I also used to have severe leg and foot cramps at night - thought it was a reward for passing 60. Thermotabs have been a life-saver. As with any salt supplement, doctor's ok is a GOOD idea. After a sweat session - working in the yard, etc. - I wash down a Thermotab or two with a bottle of Crystal Light's Hydration - also available at Amazon. Thank you Amazon

5 out of 5 stars thermotabs prevent cramps for me   May 2, 2010

I always found that bike rides of 30 miles or more usually meant I'd start cramping, depending on how hard I rode. This would be regardless of how much I drank (or how little). Although, the harder I rode, the more difficult the cramping would be. I've actually had to get off and walk the bike and have someone pick me up, it's been that bad. I tried many things with mixed results but ultimately nothing worked particularly well .. then an endurance athlete told me about the thermotabs.

Now, as soon as I feel a cramp coming on I'll take one or two thermotabs (or endurolytes by Hammer, btw). Cramps will disappear, bottom line. I've used these on centuries and longer rides, they work .. and I'm now years into using them. Maybe this sounds like a commercial but if you have leg cramps as serious as I've had then you know it's a serious problem and not much else helps. My only concern is higher salt intake can have health ramifications but I get a physical every year and the doctor says it's okay.
