5 out of 5 stars it works   June 11, 2010

I have now ordered this product twice because it works for my dog. It appeared to become effective after about 3 days and after a couple of weeks it really kicked in. I notice my dog limping a little more when I accidentally skip a day or two, so being consistent is important. For that reason, I wish it came in larger sizes so that I don't have to order a whole bunch of small bottles.

5 out of 5 stars A difference in less than a week   May 6, 2010
Andrea M. Ashbaugh (San Diego, CA)
My 12 year old whippet has had a very active and athletic life. Included in that has been a dislocated shoulder requiring a bicepitus tendon transplantation to stabilize it, a fused metacarpal/phalanges, a gracilis muscle rupture and nonspecific back pain (probably from his wonky gait resulting from all the past injuries.) I'd been concerned because he's been having an acute repetitive cramping from the back pain. As part of the symptoms, he'd stopped jumping up and stretching against me. He was receiving acupuncture and chiropractic with little effect, and while I'm willing to give him an occasional NSAID, since my last dog DIED from complications from long-term NSAIDs, I'm not about to consider that for this guy. He's already on Trixsyn and Duralactin, both to very good effect regarding keeping arthritis at bay--this pain is not due to arthritic changes. His x-rays are clear in all joints, including his back.

After just three days on DGP, he greeted me at the door with a big stretch, something he hasn't done for MONTHS. He then went on to compete in a flyball tournament the first weekend on DGP (about 5 days after starting the meds) and averaged 5.3 seconds all weekend, completing 8 heats on Saturday, and 16 on Sunday. Was up and ready for light hiking on Monday.

He's now been on the supplement about 3 weeks. At flyball practice this week, he ran solidly with no evidence of fatigue 10 straight heats, or about a half day's racing successively--heat after heat.

I don't know what this stuff would do for a severely arthritic animal, I sure don't think that there's anything to manage that kind of pain, but for my old man, DGP has made playing his favorite game for a while longer a real possibility.

5 out of 5 stars wow   April 23, 2010

I'm not sure what they put in this stuff but it is amazing.

My lab is 9 and the years have been tough on him, but this product really helps.

I tried it for a month and noticed a difference, but then I ran out for a few days and my poor old boy was just lethargic.

I got some more and he has been much more energized since. I do worry that something in this product has an upper effect so i wouldnt give it to a younger dog, but if you have an older athletic dog with a few injuries then i think it will really help.

AWESOME!! Highly recommend this product! Great for aches and pains...and little problem getting dog to take/swallow it!! Also good preventive (when i know our hike is going to be tiring or the weather turns wet and cold).

My nephew researched this product to help our old dog. We have seen some improvement and will continue giving them to her.
