Comfortable Fit June 2, 2010 J. Ying (Los Angeles, CA, USA) I started off by trying the regular-sized version, which was too bulky on the outside part. That extra bulkiness irritated my gums and pinched the insides of my cheeks. Fortunately, Sleep Right had an excellent company policy that allowed me to return my dental guard and get a full refund (there is a time limit for this policy to apply, though). This slim dental guard was comfortable, though the smaller size meant that it was more likely to fall out of place. I don't have a particularly small mouth, but I think this dental guard would be best for any woman who has a medium-to-small jaw. Another problem, common with most dental guards I've tried, was that I chewed through this one within four months or so.
HURTS! May 5, 2010 Amber A. Hancock (NM) Usually won't stay in and when it does it hurts. Left sores on my gums.
Beats spending $600 for a dental appliance March 4, 2010 mlle I actually returned my dental guard because using it helped me discover that I don't clench my teeth, like I thought I did. I used it for two nights and had no trouble with it staying put. I was able to continue sleeping with my mouth closed, and my husband did not report any snoring or other side effects. I have a very small mouth, and this fit comfortably. I would have been really angry if I had spent $600 on the dental appliance recommended by my dentist (based on the symptoms I described) only to discover that my habit is tensing all my facial muscles at night, not clenching my teeth.
Buy the Secure-Comfort or Dura-Comfort version instead February 27, 2010 PabloPicassowasan (Beverly, MA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Tried this night guard and it kept falling out in the night. Finally woke up one day and it was broken in two (where the adjustable bite pads attach to the guard is the weakest spot). This guard doesn't stay in place well enough for a side sleeper to use. Maybe if you sleep on your back or stomach it would work. I am using the Sleep Right Secure-Comfort now and am having better luck, the extra wings that it has helps to keep the guard from falling out or moving around in the night. These are very comfortable night guards, much better than the boil type in my opinion. Couldn't get to sleep with the boil types, they are too bulky and uncomfortable.
Keep your receipt if you buy any of the Sleep Right products - there is a 3 month warranty (6 month on the Dura-Comfort version).
good idea and design, but just not quite there. February 12, 2010 AC I've tried all the sizes available for these SleepRight night guards and it really came down to the bite pads being too thick. Don't get me wrong, the design and materials used seem of high quality, but even after a month - I was not used to this product in all the different sizes. I would wake up with cuts in my mouth (the bite pads have a harder plastic pivot) and a sore jaw from keeping it open at a certain angle (unanimous with all sizes). I think the design can use a little more refinement and it may be very good one day. I switched over to the Dentek "copies" and they actually work better for me. They come in packs of 2 for the price of 1 of these as well (just make sure you get the ones that have the blue bite pads). You can give it a try and may have success with this one.. but not for me.
